History:
While the history of Lutheranism in Belgium dates to the very beginnings of the Reformation, the ELKB’s institutional history dates to 1939 with the founding of a congregation in Antwerp. The church was formerly part of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod in France but achieved independence in 2002, officially establishing the ELKB in 2004.
